A Reading Vocation

"I Must Read, Read, and Read. It is my Vocation." - Thomas Merton

This is where I chronicle my reading life.  I also blog about writing at Lacey's Late-night Editing.

Book 26/100: Winnie the Pooh by A.A. Milne

Winnie-the-Pooh - A.A. Milne, Ernest H. Shepard

The stories in this collection were cute, but sometimes a little too cutesy for my tastes. But I can see how it could be enjoyable to share them with a child. I liked that the stories, though interrelated, were distinct from one another so that each could stand alone. I could imagine them being told as bedtime stories. I also liked that I could feel the father's love for his son come through the writing. The audio version I listened to was quite good, with music and outdoor sound effects woven throughout, but it drove me CRAZY that the narrator snorted every time Piglet talked.
