This is a good introduction to the Holocaust without being TOO harrowing for kids, as it focuses on a group of Jews who fled through the wilderness to escape Nazi persecution. The artwork has a smudgy, memory-like quality that is appropriate to the subject matter. I wanted the angel to figure a little more prominently into the story than she did.
